Boys Tennis season ends against #1 Trojans

Woodbridge 4, University 14:  The Warriors boys tennis team gamely tried to match up with the #1 Trojans in their semifinals match Tuesday afternoon at the WHS Tennis Center but were unable to stop University's outstanding players.

Boys Tennis advances on games won in CIF quarterfinals

Woodbridge 9, Santa Barbara 9 (86-66 games):  The Warriors beat the Dons, a perennial tennis power, in a CIF Southern Section Division 1 quarterfinals match Wednesday afternoon at Santa Barbara High School to advance to the semifinals against cross-town rival University.

Led by Patrick Lipscomb, Joey Brandt, and Jake De Vries, singles won 8 of the 9 matches with the doubles team of Colby Trinh and James Lafond pulling out the last doubles match of the day. 

  

Woodbridge now plays University in the semis in a Pacific Coast League rematch on Tuesday at 3:00pm with the location still to be determined.

Patrick Lipscomb named OC Varsity Athlete of the Week

Congratulations to Patrick Lipscomb who was named Boys Tennis athlete of the week by OCVarsity.com.

On Wednesday, after having won the first two rounds of the CIF-SS Division 1 Playoffs, Lipscomb and his Warrior teammates travel to Santa Barbara High School for a quarterfinals match against the Dons.

The #3 ranked Warriors have started the season off well by winning their first three matches against Aliso Niguel, Huntington Beach, and Foothill this week.  Entire preseason Top 10 rankings.
